The vocal ensemble

The vocal ensemble “Les Voix
Diphoniques” was born in 1995, gathering
musicians enchanted by this extraordinary singing technique.

Trained as classical musicians, the members of the band draw
their inspiration from the origins of overtone singing in Central Asia,
from the plainsong (use of modes and resonances), from musics with drones in
general (Byzantine chant, traditional musics...) and from more modern techniques.

The vocal ensemble “Les Voix Diphoniques” is made up of 5 musicians :

Cyril Bonnier (voice, reed clarinet), Pierre Corbi (voice, percussion
instruments), Sylvain Fargeix (voice, cornetto), Christian Le Mounier
(voice, Jew's harp) and Denis Vautrin (voice).
